Welcome to the homepage of the Symposium for Seventeeth-Century Scottish Literature. The symposium is being organised by a group of Scottish Literature Postgraduate researchers at the University of Glasgow whose work focuses on a diverse range of authors and texts from this complex century.
Although the seventeenth century has been “curiously neglected” (Bawcutt 2005) it has in recent years benefitted from increased scholarly attention. Our aim is to reflect on and celebrate the shape of the field today.
Our first symposium will be held on the 17th, 18th and 19th of February 2021 via Zoom. Click here to get your ticket on Eventbrite. All are welcome and we can’t wait to meet you!
